Nominator's project description
| Professor Sheppard is an optical scientist whose publications cover an unusual breadth and reveal a remarkable depth. He invented two photon microscopy and published pioneering papers on high resolution confocal microscopy. A specialty is the modelling of light propagation including the vectorial properties of the field and ultrafast pulses. During his stay at Erlangen Professor Sheppard is going to study polarization effects in nanooptics. |
